Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about consigning vintage collectibles, historical material, and memorabilia with Britannic Auctions.
How much do I actually keep after selling at auction?
Britannic Auctions works on a straightforward flat 20% commission model.
You keep 80% of the final hammer price with no hidden fees, photography charges, marketing costs, or per-item listing fees. The commission is automatically deducted from the final sale proceeds, making the process simple and hassle-free.
When will I get paid after the auction?
Consignor payments are typically processed within 30 days of the auction closing.
This allows time for bidder payments to clear and for the sale process to be finalized before settlement is issued.
How quickly will my items be sold?
Every collection is different. Britannic Auctions carefully places approved consignments into the auction that best fits the material, category, and collector demand.
We typically hold 4–6 specialist online auctions each year.
Do you offer free auction evaluations?
Yes. Britannic Auctions provides free auction evaluations for items and collections we believe may be suitable for consignment.
We carefully review the photos, details, and history you provide to determine potential auction interest and estimated market value.
Can I consign a single item or does it need to be a large collection?
We accept both individual high-quality items and larger collections.
Whether you are downsizing, handling an estate, or selling an entire collection, we will help determine the best approach for the material.
Will these items go to people who actually appreciate them?
That is one of the biggest concerns families and collectors have.
Our goal is to place vintage collectibles, historical material, memorabilia, and paper-based collections in front of buyers who genuinely appreciate and actively collect these categories.
For many consignors, knowing the collection will continue to be valued and preserved matters just as much as the final auction result.
I inherited a collection and do not know what I have. Can you still help?
Yes. Many consignors come to us with inherited collections, mixed boxes, albums, or historical material they did not personally collect.
You do not need expert knowledge or a complete inventory before contacting us.
